My yoga style

I teach in the tradition of Swami Sivananda, a physician, monk and renowned Indian yoga master. He did not invent a new form of yoga, but brought the ancient tradition of classical yoga together into a comprehensive system.

“Serve, love, give, purify, meditate, realise.”

The five basic pillars

01

Proper exercise (Asanas)

They increase the mobility of joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons, stimulate circulation and strengthen the internal organs. They also build muscular strength and improve the flexibility of the spine.

02

Proper breathing (Pranayama)

It refreshes, calms and harmonises body and mind. Deep, conscious breathing can reduce stress and negative moods.

03

Proper relaxation (Savasana)

When body and mind remain under constant tension, they lose efficiency. Physical discomfort may accompany mental fatigue and irritability. A few minutes of physical, mental and spiritual relaxation can restore balance and energy.

04

Proper diet (Vegetarian)

It is fresh, natural and easy to digest and helps to prevent physical discomfort.

05

Positive thinking and meditation (Vedanta and Dhyana)

They are the keys to peace of mind. By directing the mind, we become more balanced and focused and experience silence and inner peace.
